After two weeks of college football, the Florida State Seminoles have asserted themselves as premier contenders to both make the playoffs and win the National Championship. The Noles started their season as the preseason #8 overall ranked in the country and after obliterating the then #5 LSU Tigers 45-24, they shot up to the #4 ranking after going into the game at 2 points on the spread.
They then dismantled Southern Miss 66-13 and had no issues covering the 31-point spread that was set on the game.

Taking a look back at their journey through the first two weeks, oddsmakers have certainly been on their side. They went into the season with 2250 odds to win the title which were towards the middle of the oddsboard and have shot up since. After their Week 1 win against LSU, they shot down to 1100. Just before taking on Southern Miss, their odds came down even more to 1000.
After they completely annihilated Southern Miss, their National Championship odds were sliced in half to 650 which are only behind Georgia ( 250) and Michigan ( 525). Everything about Florida State this season from an odds standpoint has taken a turn for the better.
As far as their preseason odds go, their 375 odds to make the playoffs and 9.5 win total are their highest they’ve been in the preseason since the 2017 season.

Looking at their odds to win the ACC Championship, they opened at 170, however, with Clemson losing in Week 1 to Duke and then dropping out of the top 25, they have since dropped under even at -110 before briefly stopping at 110 after winning in Week 1.
Feeding into their strength even more, Jordan Travis is playing at a Heisman-caliber level early on. Travis has the second shortest odds to win the Heisman at 500 and has put up 517 passing yards, 6 touchdowns, and all at an 86.9 QBR which is the 9th best in the country.

Just to show how strongly many around the country think of FSU, they have received the second most first-place votes in the first two AP Polls. It could also be argued that the Seminoles have the most talented roster in the country.
Keon Coleman, the transfer wide receiver from Michigan State has accumulated for four of Travis’s six touchdowns. Not to mention, Travis also has one rushing touchdown on 59 yards through two games as well.
