RBs become premium position in fantasy football through Week 2 of NFL | News Article by squatchpicks.com

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for nearly every fantasy football general manager in the world. Nearly every offense in the league looked visibly rusty in Week 1, as the season opened up to some extremely unpleasant football for almost every game. Usually reliable star quarterbacks were perhaps the most disappointing group with multiple early picks underplaying their projection by a healthy margin.

Through two weeks, the highest-scoring fantasy player in a standard scoring system is… the Dallas Cowboys defense. It didn’t hurt that the Boys started their season against the New York Giants who went six quarters without scoring a single point.

Then, they got the pleasure of lining up opposite an offense with Zach Wilson under center instead of Aaron Rodgers. Wilson went on to throw three picks, and Dallas came up with four takeaways overall.

That being said, the fact that the Cowboys defense is leading the entire league in fantasy point through two weeks is unthinkable. Not only that, but they have a six-point lead on Kirk Cousins in second place. The quarterback with the second-most fantasy points so far? The Green Bay Packers QB1: Jordan Love, who sits at fourth in scoring overall.

It’s unsurprising that many fantasy owners have put up some of their most pitiful games in their career through the first two weeks of this season, considering the top four scorers in fantasy right now are the Cowboys defense, Cousins, Tyreek Hill, and Love.

A good chunk of those people can’t even rely on their top running backs to turn their season around either, as many of the most highly drafted ball-carriers are set to miss multiple weeks with injury.

Both Nick Chubbs and J.K. Dobbins have already been lost for the year. Austin Ekeler, Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, Aaron Jones, and David Montgomery are all forecasted to be out for the foreseeable future.

Week 2 Running Backs Fantasy Football News and Injuries

Even some of the healthy running backs have been no-shows so far this season, some of whom were expected to top the charts this year. Josh Jacobs has 12 points through two games, making him the 163rd-ranked player in a standard scoring system.

Najee Harris has been even worse, with just 7.6 points on the year. Joe Mixon has struggled just as much as any other player on the Cincinnati Bengals, currently just the 121st player in fantasy.

Anyone rostering any of the aforementioned running backs might have a long season ahead of them.
