India’s rising cricket star, wicketkeeper cum batter Rishabh Pant has sustained massive physical damage after facing a car accident on the Narsan border, Roorkee, in the proximity of Hammadpur, Uttarakhand.
Police asserted on Friday that his dizziness while driving caused the collision of his car with a divider nearby.
Pant was going from Delhi to Roorkee, and in between, he was caught in the accident. But fortunately enough, he somehow managed to escape as the fire caught fire after the incident.
The better has suffered numerous injuries in the devastation, but his condition is now stable, as reported. He is under treatment at the Max hospital in Dehradun.
The Police Superintendent of Haridwar, SK Singh, revealed to ANI that Pant fell asleep when he hit the divider. He was on the way to meet his relatives in Roorkee. At the time of the mishap, he was alone in the vehicle.
Dr Ashish Yagnik, who’s supervising Pant’s treatment, said that he was kept under the observation of the Orthopaedics and Plastic surgeon.
BCCI has stretched its full support for the treatment and speedy recovery of the batter from this traumatic period. BCCI also disclosed that Pant had sustained injuries on his forehead, a ligament rupture in his right knee and wounds on his toe, ankle and wrist with an abrasion injury on his back.
Shyam Sharma, Director of Delhi and District Cricket Association, after visiting Pant, told the media that he is now recovering and in stable condition; doctors of BCCI are constantly monitoring his treatment at the hospital.
Also, he advised visitors to avoid meeting Pant in this situation as earlier celebrities like Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor visited him at the hospital.
According to Sharma, Pant told him that he was trying to avoid a pothole when he ended up hitting the divider.
The police of Uttarakhand also, surprisingly, released a statement in support of Pant’s claim. Police stated that Pant was not overspeeding or under the alcoholic influence when the accident happened. Singh added that they had checked many CCTV footage from UP to the accident area and found Pant innocent.
On the other hand, Susheel Kumar Mann, a Haryana roadway bus driver, became a national spectacle after he rescued the cricketer after the horrific accident. Haryana Government later complimented him with an award.
As of now, there’s a chance that he won’t be playing for Delhi Capital in the upcoming edition of IPL. Though his MRI reports are all positive, he will require at least three to six months of rest before appearing on the ground.
