We had a taste of college football last weekend, but we finally get to really kick the season off. We have a full slate of games. None are bigger than the Florida State Seminoles taking on the LSU Football Tigers in Orlando.
This game will set up the winner to be in the driver’s seat for a playoff spot, no matter how early it is. Both of these teams have national championship aspirations, and winning this game will only bolster those aspirations.

Last year, these two teams faced off in this same slot and it was the Seminoles who came out on top. Both of the teams wound up ranked in the top 10 at the end of the year after starting out unranked. This year, both of them are in the preseason top 10 this year, so it is not just the name value as it was last year.
Both of these teams have QB’s with Heisman aspirations. Jordan Travis for Florida State is electrifying with his feet and his arm. It took a while for him to get there, but the current version of Jordan Travis is good enough to raise the Seminoles to the College Football Playoff.

Jayden Daniels is the signal caller for the LSU Tigers. He set the world on fire his freshman year at Arizona State and was able to get back to star status at LSU after a slow second season at ASU. These teams also have two of the better defensive players in the country.
LSU features All-World Sophomore Harold Perkins. They are moving him to middle linebacker to have him involved more often. He seems to have the same potential as Micah Parsons. Florida State went to the University of Albany to find a receiver that they converted to defensive end. That man is Jared Verse. He is a superstar.

This game is going to have major national championship implications. The Seminoles only have one other team on their schedule with equal talent to them the Clemson Tigers. LSU has a different path, having to play the SEC West. It is doubtful that they get through it without a loss, so a loss to Florida State may take them out of the playoff early.
